The Power of Thieves

As we all know, chemical cleaners are hard on the nose and eye. What do you think they do to the inside of our body once we breath them in? Many over the counter cleaners are filled with strong chemicals and disinfectants that pose heath risks for people of all ages, let along our pets. Once those chemicals are washed down the drain, do you think if where they go? It's actually not hard to find out; as they often contaminate our waterways and the soil beneath our feet. It is hard to pick out the "most toxic" of them all, but drain, oven and toilet bowl cleaners are among some of the worst; along with chlorinated disinfectants, mildew removers, wood and metal polishes and your basic ammonia and bleach disinfectants.

The most important thing to consider when looking for cleaning products is to read the labels. Manufactures are not required to disclose "all" the ingredients in their cleans. (of course!) Every chemical has a Materials Safety Data Sheet (MSDS). I am honored to have learned in detail about MSDS papers and their significance having earned my cosmetology degree. For those who don't know much about them, they are specifically designed to provide detailed information about a particular product which is to include chemical properties, physical and health hazards, routes of exposure, precautions for safe handling and use, emergency and first-aide procedures. That's just a start of the information MSDS papers may provide. You can obtain free MSDS papers online at http://www.msds.com/.

As mentioned earlier, bleach (chlorine bleach to be specific) can become very dangerous. It commonly causes irritation to the lungs as well as causing burns and burning sensations to the eyes and skin. Did I mentioned how harmful chlorine is to the environment? When released into the air or water, it can combine with organic compounds and other chemicals, harming plans and animal life; let alone the land our food and water is being produced from.

So what's the solution? All Natural! Thieves Household Cleaner (TC) is a staple in our household. I never run out and use on a daily basis, especially with a dog running around! It seems hard to believe, but Thieves Household Cleaner is 100% all natural and non-toxic. TC is 100% plant and mineral based; made from vegetable-based surfactants, Biodegradable cutting agents, and organic Thieves and Lemon Essential Oils; the highest quality and purity essential oils.

I always thought I'd never be able to keep up with Thieves, because to the naked eye, it seems pretty expensive. I bit the bullet and purchased my first bottle a couple of years ago. That is when I realized 1. you don't use but 1 part TC to 30 parts water. Yep, you read it right! I use so little when mixing that it lasts. When breaking down a 64 oz bottle of TC, it equals about 128 all-purpose 30 oz spray bottles for 88 cents a bottle. Can you get an ALL NATURAL cleaner for that price anywhere else?

You can essentially save even more money with wholesale pricing. A wholesale membership equals out to 67 cents per bottle. As for other Young Living products, you receive 24% off every product, every oil, every time you purchase... for a lifetime! Healing Herbs and Spices

Below is a great image that illustrates some simple spices that can be used to help minor symptoms!
I'm sure many of us already have these in our spice racks. I even have a handful of these in my Essential Oil collection (Oregano, Thyme, Cinnamon, Mint and Rosemary). I can't wait to try black pepper to cook with; I'm a bit of a pepper lover!

Attention Parents

Do you feed your children vitamins? Do you know what ingredients make up those vitamins?

I recently read an article titled "Top Pharma-Brand of Children's Vitamins Contains Aspartame, GMOs, & Other Hazardous Chemicals". This article is interesting to me because it's often unknown exactly what is in our food, vitamins, drinks, and even water.

Children's vitamins are known to be healthy to the general public, but the most popular brand, Flintstones Vitamins, are now in the spotlight for their "not so healthy ingredients". Although Flintstones Vitamins claim to be the "Pediatricians' #1 Choice", their ingredients are proving to be shocking.

Among these ingredients are Aspartame, Cupric Oxide, Coal tar (artificial coloring: FD& C Blue #2, Red #40, Yellow #6), Zinc Oxide, Sorbitol, Ferrous Fumarate, Hydrogenated Oil (Soybean), and GMO Corn starch.

According to Bayer Health Science, the global pharmaceutical producer of Flintstones Vitamins, 82% of children do not eat all of their vegetables. Children in return don't get the nutrients they need. Think about that? In my opinion, this makes the impression Flintstones Vitamins are a supplement that "replaces" the lack of vegetables in children's diet.

By simply digging into the ingredients making up Flintstones Vitamins, there are varying opinions about this popular choice and how safe it really is for our children. This article is not "new". The article was written over 2 years ago!
