Oiling Class Results

The class is here and gone just as fast as the snow fell last night and melted today, not that I'm complaining!

I want to thank everyone for coming, as we had a great group of women. A couple of members, wanting to expand their knowledge about Young Living and more ways to use the oils were in attendance as well as 4 non-members wanting to simply learn more about not only the Essential Oils Young Living offers but the various other health-care products. We had the pleasure of one of the four non-members never even hearing about Young Living. I'm glad she was finally introduced and given the proper information to learn more about them and their benefits.

I also wanted to give a special thank you to Heidi Anderson and Kelse Gilson, my up-lines for joining me while I hosted this class/party. Heidi and Kelse are both extremely knowledgeable about Young Living and have amazing experiences with their products as well.

Oiling class are always no-obligation classes that offer experiences, knowledge, information, history and much more about Young Living products. Although this is a no-obligation class, we have two ladies that couldn't wait to try these oils and products in their own home. Welcome Oona Vollmer and Sharon Kaul to my team of oilers! I'm excited to see how the oils benefit you and your family as well as the experiences you share with friends and family. You can view all my new members on the New Members link at the top of the page!

What's at an oiling class? Well, it's not the hard...

I have an array of awesome Citrus Essential Oils you can taste in your water with a slice of lime, orange, or lemon! It's always great to try before you commit. I also bring my oils as well as various Young Living products I've personally collected through my experiences with Young Living. Below are some pictures of the many products and information that is at the tip of your fingers when attending or hosting Essential Oil classes.

Above is part of my display featuring some key products including: Idaho Balsam Fir Essential Oil, 3 awesome Lip Balms (Cinnamint, Grapefruit and Lavender), Thieves Household Cleaner, and NingXia Red, commonly known as the "red drink".

Along with information, you have access to almost unlimited learning tools.  Oh I can't forget, amazing food too! I made some awesome treats with Lime, Lemon and Peppermint oils. Find many recipes on the Food Recipes tab at the top of my blog!

Samples, samples and more samples. You can never have enough samples can you? Well, maybe you can, but we left nothing at home!

Everyone wants what is best for their children in almost every circumstance. Young Living has an oil line specifically for children, although their vast selection of Essential Oils is safe for us on children when properly diluted. The children's line is specifically for children because they are specially formulated so it can be applied directly to your child, keeping them safe. The KidScents also targets the major areas children need most to maintain an already healthy lifestyle.
I love giving away things to my guests, as I can never thank you enough for wanting to learn more about what I have become passionate about. Follow me on the left hand side of the blog!
Promotions, Promotions, Promotions! Like I said above, I love giving things away, especially those who want to better their life in the Happy-Healthy way! This month only (March), I'm giving way a free 15 ml bottle of  Lime Essential Oil to all new Young Living Members. The month's almost over, don't wait if you want to join my team of oilers. If you're ready now, click here and follow the prompts.
 More samples!
Young Living has more to offer than 'just' organic Essential Oils. Above is one of my favorite products, YL Blender Bottle-Purple. It's the perfect size for me and fits in the car drink holder!

I have never been one to enjoy reading, but I find business related books are always enjoyable reads for me. I have three favorite books:
"The One Minute Manager" by Ken Blanchard, Ph.D. and Spencer Johnson, M.D.
"The One Minute Entrepreneur" by Ken Blanchard and Don Hutson featuring author Ethan Willis
"Full Steam Ahead" by Ken Blanchard and Jesse Lyn Stoner

Now, there is a trend, Ken Blanchard. Ken is an amazing author with great advice for not only living, but business aspects. If you get a chance to read any of these books, please let me know what you think.

If you are interested in Young Living Essential Oils and Products, browse around my blog. Let me know if you have any questions. Want to learn a little more in person, book a class! I would love to bring Kelse and Heidi to host a class for you and some of your friends and family. We can call it a party if you want, because sometimes class sounds too boring!

Simply contact me via e-mailFacebook, the Contact Form on the left side of my blog or by phone and we can set up a time that works for you.

9 natural remedies to kick spring allergies to the curb

Want to beat spring allergies the natural way?

The grass is starting to turn green in Wisconsin and the flowers aren't far behind. Once spring arrives, so will the constant sneezing and watery-itching eyes that come with seasonal allergies. Up to 30% of the world’s population is effected by common allergies.

It is easy to turn to over-the-counter allergy medications that help clear mucus and reduce your sniffling, but many people seek doctor-prescribed options, such as an allergy shot, to aid because the over-the-counter are ineffective for them. Not too appealing, right?

Many over-the-counter allergy medications have antihistamines in them which make 1 in every 5 users drowsy. According to the Asthma and Allergy Foundation of America, antihistamines can relieve up to 80% of symptoms by rarely all of them. Oral decongestants can cause headaches, sleeplessness and rapid heartburn on top of that.

So let’s think about this: we have allergies and take all these man-made, over-the-counter medications to “bandage” the problem, but it never really fixes it. Instead of running to the drugstore when spring hits, try out some of these alternative and natural remedies.

1.       Sip on some Apple Cider Vinegar.
By drinking apple cider vinegar, you are naturally increasing your potassium, which aids in the elimination of runny noses. Apple cider vinegar also helps break down any mucus build up, letting you finally smell again! It doesn't exactly taste the greatest so don’t drink it straight! Mix with water and/or lemon juice. You can also add honey and warm to a comfortable temperature.

2.       Probiotics
Probiotics are commonly recommended by doctors, chiropractors, and health professionals all over the world. Many recognize Probiotics for the use in balancing bacteria in your stomach, but it has been shown to support the immune systems of children who suffer from allergies also.

3.       Flush your nose regularly
“Nasal irrigation is the draining of saline from one nostril through another in order to flush out the mucus” This is a simply and fairly relaxing process that is generally done by using things such as Neti pots, which look like small plastic teapot. You can find these at any local drugstore. In 2006, a study was completed that resulted in benefits to allergy patients regularly flushing their nose during the peak allergy season.

4.       Hot Shower
Everyone loves hot showers right? Well, most of us do! The American Academy of Allergy Asthma & Immunology has recommended that you take a shower once you enter your home to cleanse yourself of all outdoor pollen. Makes sense to me. The steam from the shower will help temporarily clear your sinuses.

Diffusing Lavender or Peppermint while showering can be relax to your body. Young Living Lavender essential oil is a natural anti-histamine and anti-inflammatory which is also relaxing.

*Be sure to research and use only quality oils (such as Young Living Essential Oils). Many companies have misled customers, claiming to offer “pure”, “therapeutic grade” or “aromatherapy grade” essential oils. Currently there are no government regulations that grade or certify essential oils as pure, therapeutic or aromatherapy grades. However, you can find organic essential oils, such as Young Living Essential Oils. The FDA regulates by organic or non-organic. A natural product is not the same as organic according to the FDA, although organic foods are natural by definition. According to the FDA, "Organic refers not only to the food itself, but also how it was produced." In addition, to be labeled as organic, "they must be grown and processed using organic farming methods that recycle resources and promote biodiversity- two key elements of environmentally sustainable agriculture." Basically what that means is, "crops must be grown without using synthetic pesticides, bioengineered genes, petroleum-based fertilizers and sewage sludge-based fertilizers." View the About Young Living tab and Seed to Seal tab to learn more about Young Living Essential Oils and the organic process they go to that molds the value from the time the seed is planted until the oil is sealed.

5.       Diffuse Eucalyptus Oil
Dried Eucalyptus leaves are used to make this oil commonly used for allergy relief. Young Living offers an array of Eucalyptus Oils that are each derived from various Eucalyptus plants, but not intended to diagnose, treat, or cure allergies.

6.       Eat Spicy Foods
Spicy foods such as onion, garlic, hot ginger and cayenne pepper are known to help thin mucus, letting it drain easier.

7.       Acupuncture
Acupuncture is a traditional Chinese medicine that involved thin needles poking you in strategic places that have some people “freaked out”. Several studies have shown it to be an effective solution in patients with allergic rhinitis (allergic inflammation of the nasal airways).

Aromatherapy

Aromatherapy, which can be intimidating to many people, goes beyond the ease of purchasing pre-packaged bath salt blends and chemically enhanced candles. All the various electronic diffusers, bottles and bottles of oil, and fancy-sounding names. Getting started can open your eyes to an entirely new world of enjoyable, happy, healthy living.
The basics of aromatherapy are pretty simple once the important concepts are understood. Aromatherapy is practiced by using essential oils. Therapeutic or organic grade essential oils act as the chemical messengers and guards of the plant kingdom. Hundreds of different “volatile” (easily evaporated) compounds make up a single essential oil. Most of those compounds are very compatible with the make-up of the human body. The best part is, organic essential oils do for humans as they do for plants- act as chemical messengers by affecting our sense of smell as well as defending the body against foreign invaders by their anti-bacterial and anti-viral actions.

It is important to understand the difference between organic or therapeutic grade essential oils and proclaimed therapeutic grade essential oils. The Food & Drug administration generally grades according to organic and non-organic. Many oil producers refer to their product as “therapeutic grade”. This can often be mis-interpreted. Young Living essential oils are organic, meaning no chemicals or pesticides are used in the entire Seed to Seal process. That also mean Young Living does not chemically enhance or alter their oils. Chemically enhanced oils, often found at chain stores, drug stores, convenient stores, grocery stores, and many other “over-the-counter” sources, can be extremely dangerous if used incorrectly or in the wrong situations.

I use Young Living Essential Oils because of their Seed to Seal commitment. Seed to Seal is a unique 5-step process Young Living created and proudly stands by, as it is their only standard for creating pure, organic essential oils with the highest authenticity possible. The production is carefully monitored from the moment the seed is sourced until the oil is sealed into the bottle we purchase as consumers. Young Living applies the most demanding quality control possible to guarantee each and every customer is receiving essential oils precisely the way nature intended.  To learn more about the Seed to Seal process, visit the Seed to Seal tab at the top of the page.

It is also extremely important that each essential oil user knows how to properly use the oils. Please visit the Usage page to learn more about proper usage.
