Benefits of Diffusing Young Living Essential Oils (EO)

Have you ever thought "what is in a candle"? If you really think about it, what is being released from the wax when it is burning? Most candles are made of paraffin wax, which creates extremely toxic carcinogens. Those same toxins released from paraffin are found in diesel fuel fumes. That means, every time you light a candle, those toxins are released into the very air you and your family are breathing. Yikes!

Lets dig even deeper into the candle. Many scented candles also have wicks that contain heavy metals like lead. Even a few hours of burning a lead based wick can create levels of airborne heavy metals that are well over the acceptable limits humans should be breathing. "In the US, candle wicks are supposed to be made of cotton or paper, but studies have found that as much as 30% of the candles being produced contain heavy metals in the wicks." I can't speak for others, but that is alarming to me. Why do we, as American Citizens, allow such harmful products to continue to be made, let alone used?

"A candle with a lead-core wick releases five times the amount of lead considered hazardous for children and exceeds EPA pollution standards for outdoor air, says CPSC, which is why they banned lead wicks in 2003. Exposure to high amounts of lead has been linked to hormone disruption, behavioral problems, learning disabilities, and numerous health problems." "Other toxic chemicals that may be present in the paraffin mixture and released through burning include: Acetone, Trichorofluoromethane, Carbon Disulfide, 2-Butanone, Trichlorethane, Trichloroethene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Tetrachloroethene, Chlorobenzene, Ethylbenzene, Styrene, Xylene, Phenol, Cresol, Cyclopentene. Some of the toxins are found in other products such as paints, laquer and varnish removers- that's potent and powerful stuff!" So I don't know about you guys, but I can't even pronounce half of the chemicals listed above.

Diffusing is a safe way to make your bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, office, patio, or any other location smell good. I particularly love diffusing Purification essential oil to help eliminate odors instead of using a scented spritz bottle or candle. I've burnt a few popcorn bags in my lifetime! I also like to diffuse Peppermint essential oil while showering, as it has a strong, fresh scent. Young Living has various oils and oil blends to meet everyone's pleasure. What will hit your sweet spot?

It's hard to know what to believe when you are thinking about Essential Oils. It's similar to going to the grocery store. Do you buy organic or non-organic? Before purchasing any oil, you should know where that product comes from. Young Living takes pride in their standard for essential oil purity and authenticity. Click on the link below to learn more about the 5-step process each Young Living oil goes through before it is in our hands, the users.

Introduction

Hello! My name is Nicole, an independent distributor of Young Living Essential Oils. My goal is to help educate you on the proper use of various oils so you and your families live a happy, healthy lifestyle.

Essential oils are extremely concentrated substances. One drop is often powerful enough for almost every situation. Many people assume that since essential oils originate from plant sources they are without risk, but that is not always the case. Essential oils have the potential to cause minor reactions, such as skin irritation, or more serious consequences like respiratory failure and cancer, when not used appropriately. Some of the major areas of concern include, “overdose, neurotoxins, inhaled allergens, adverse skin reactions, and carcinogens.” (Challenges Facing Essential Oil Therapy: Proof of Saftey, Tisserand, Robert, Alliance of International Aromatherapists (AIA) Conference, 10-2007)

I am glad essential oils are easily accessible to anyone who wishes to purchase them- I only wish they each came with adequate educational material so consumers could learn about the oil and how it is best used. That's what I'm here for! There is no regulated standard, and because of this, it is up to us as distributors to help educate you and provide you with the proper materials for use of each essential oil before we use them.

Since everything we apply to our skin has the potential to be absorbed, I want to be sure you have a quality essential oil free of pesticides, contaminants, synthetic constituents, or other unnatural substances. As an Independent Distributor of Young Living Essential Oils, I have made it a top priority of mine to provide the best educational information “oilers” need in order to effectively and safely use YL Essential Oils.

“Pure essential oils and absolutes are very concentrated. Many pounds of herbs, flowers, resins, or fruits are used to produce small amounts of oils…Only small amounts of oils are needed to gain results…Using too much essential oil can sometimes have a boomerang effect and aggravate, rather than soothe, symptoms” –Coleen K. Dodt, the essential oils book
