Seed to Seal is Young Living's way of authenticating their oils and protecting nature's living energy in every bottle.

Young Living is delighted to set the standard for essential oil purity and authenticity by carefully observing the production of their oils through a coined 5-step process known as Seed to Seal. From the moment the seed is sourced until the oil is sealed into the bottle consumers’ purchase, Young Living applies the most rigorous quality controls possible. This helps ensure that each consumer is receiving essential oils exactly the way nature intended; pure & organic.

Through each step of the Seed to Seal process, on both Young Living farms and partner farms, they use the most demanding standards possible to make their products, our lives, and the earth better. STEP 1: SEED

The most powerful and effective essential oils are derived from seeds and plants that are verified for the probability of essential oil and their specific potential. Young Living experts partner with university experts to perform these studies.

STEP 2: CULTIVATE

Young Living farms are located around the world. Young Living is dedicated to perfecting the “best” growing and harvesting methods, which are used at each and every farm. Their experts conduct world-travels to co-op farms, confirming that their growing and cultivating processes match Young Living’s high standards. Each operation provides an ongoing source for essential oils that always meet Young Living’s demand for quality standards.

STEP 3: DISTILL

Young Living is recognized as an innovator in essential oil distillation due to their combining ancient and modern techniques, using the “best of both”. They use a gentle, branded technique for steam extracting the most effective essential oils. That’s not all though; Young Living also uses cold pressing and resin tapping methods for select oils, to ensure the most effective method is used for each oil.

STEP 4: TEST

If there is one thing you should know about Young Living products, this is it- “Young Living never accepts diluted, cut, or adulterated oils.” You cannot guarantee quality, purity and consistency without pureness. To guarantee consistent quality, Young Living tests each oil in their internal labs. They are also tested in third-party facilities, to ensure that they meet those rigorous specifications they set for themselves in addition to exceeding international standards. Beyond that, Young Living oils then contain the optimal levels of natural bioactive compounds without additives and synthetics.

STEP 5: SEAL

To complete the 5-step Seed to Seal process, Young Living uses “state-of-the-art equipment” located on their 107,000 square foot facility in Utah to seal the bottles. Each essential oil is carefully bottled into a protective amber glass bottle, where it is then ready to be shipped to members across the globe.
